Adult Literacy Inc offers classes to groups and individuals at very little cost to the learner. We have two centres in Glen Innes and Auckland. Our tutors have been trained to offer a supportive and student goaled environment for learning.

You can become a student if you were born in New Zealand or the Pacific Islands, or have New Zealand residency and did not learn to read and write in your own country.

Alliance Francaise

The Alliance Francaise is a worldwide network of non-profit associations dedicated to the promotion of the French language and the cultures of France and of the many French-speaking countries abroad. The first Alliance was founded in Paris in 1883 and nowadays there are nearly 1000 such associations throughout the world, including 10 centres in New Zealand.
The Alliance Francaise Auckland offers French language classes to both adults and children and organises social and cultural events (exhibitions, concerts, cinema…). Being a not for profit organisation supported by the French Embassy, fees charged are only intended to cover expenses.

The Alliance française promotes cultural diversity and an idea of globalisation respectful of differences. There is no need to be fluent in French to be a member of our Alliance and enjoy our activities as most of our events are bilingual.

Auckland Schools Community Education Association (ASCEA) offers courses in Art, crafts & photography, business & computing skills, cooking, ESOL, health & fitness, languages, music and much more.

Schools from Waiuku to the North Shore, Onehunga to Howick, North to South, East to West, offer courses that are short and affordable, with no pre-requisites, which are held in the evenings and on weekends.

We hire our venue for private functions and other community groups use our facilities. Leisuretime Learning at Western Springs College is a social enterprise which provides affordable, high quality, short courses in the Central Auckland area.

Parnell Trust

Parnell Community Centre is a very busy place.

Every year thousands of people pass through our doors at the Jubilee Building to participate in community classes and activities; attend meetings, weddings, seminars, church services and numerous other gatherings within the venue; shop at the popular weekly Parnell Farmers’ Market and the new monthly Craft Harvest; visit the Library, seek free advice from Justices of the Peace on Tuesdays, bring their babies to visit Plunket and embark on guided walks to nearby heritage icons.

Within Parnell Community Centre, Parnell Trust offers a rich programme of community classes and activities throughout the year. Parnell Trust also offers a growing programme of classes and activities in Inner City Auckland, for the growing population of residents in the CBD.

The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) offers access to Auckland University’s knowledge and research, and encourages the two-way flow of ideas between the University and its many communities.
