Our mission is to ensure that equitable social policies are maintained and that quality community and social services are delivered to Auckland City community. We aim to achieve this by coordinating the city network of social services, holding seminars on topical issues for social services, writing articles and submissions to analyse local decisions and provide a voice for the Auckland community actively supporting initiatives which share common goals.
Empowerment & Success: A Positive Path for the NGO Sector
Following on from our successful collaboration in 2014, Community Networks Aotearoa (CNA) and the NZ Council of Christian Social Services (NZCCSS) are together again for our joint conference in October 2017. The conference, entitled Empowerment & Success: A Positive Path for the NGO Sector, will take place on the 26th and 27th of October at the Quality Hotel Lincoln Green in Auckland. This two-day event will have something to offer not only our member organisations and their networks but all involved sector-wide. So, save the date and watch this space as more detailed information becomes available! www.communitynetworksaotearoa.org.nz
ADCOSS AGM 29 June
This year’s ADCOSS AGM will be held at 12noon – 2pm on Thursday, 29 June in the Western Springs Garden Community Hall. Our guest speaker is Dr James Prescott who is going to talk on: “The Importance of Relationships in the Social Services Sector: Managing the new wave of challenges for funders and providers”. This will certainly be a fascinating talk and we are looking forward to welcoming you at our meeting! A Tongan specialist accountant, Dr James Prescott is member of the advisory panel of MSD and the Ministry for Vulnerable Children. He gave an excellent talk at the recent Community Development Conference in Auckland in February 2017 where he challenged the concept of measuring outcomes on counselling – are we counting the right things? Please let us know if you are able to come. Please send your registration to email@example.com
