Our mission is to help mothers to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, education, information, and encouragement and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.
Leaders are mothers who have successfully breastfed at least one baby, they choose to volunteer their time to support other families meet their breastfeeding goals. Leaders have training in breastfeeding management and communication skills, and are peer supporters rather than health professionals. Leaders are available at group meetings and for phone counselling. We work by offering information and support for each family to make the choices which are right for them.
Accredited La Leche League Leaders are mothers who have been trained to provide information and support for breastfeeding. We are available to help. You can phone, come to a meeting or ask a question via email.
