Sunnydene is a school for children who have an intellectual disability, many of whom also have physical, sensory or behavioural disabilities. It serves the Central Auckland suburbs, and students are transported to and from school by taxi or minibus, paid for by the Ministry of Education (dependent  on eligibility). The students range in age from 5 to 21 years, and are funded under the Ministry of Education’s Ongoing Resource Scheme (ORS) for Special Education.
